For over 20 years, it was my privilege to provide consulting services to Ed and other members of his firm. In so many ways, Ed was a super star in my eyes - a gentle giant in his warmth toward people; discerning in his intellect and insight; exemplary in his ethics and professional standards; even-handed and respectful in all circumstances.

Personal tragedies marked Ed's recent years but, surely, God has now welcomed home this good man and favored him with everlasting peace. As his friend and admirer, I pray it so.

Ed and I were classmates at UT Law and clerked together at an Austin law firm. He was a good friend in law school and was an outstanding lawyer. He will be missed by a lot of us.
